DorWey Training
Modules
During the lessons, using
Graphic Briefings, the student
will receive instruction on the various driving disciplines. At the end of the
lessons, using the DorWey Training Modules, the students will be able to
study the information in their own time, and at their own speed.
One of the major advantages of the Training Modules is
that not only will the students find that they use the same illustrations as
Graphic Briefings, but the written guidance will be the same as that which they
heard from the instructor. This familiarity with the material should provide a
sense of continuity, and confidence, which will help the learning process.
At the end of each module the students will find a
question paper. Using the module, the students should work through the questions
until they feel confident that they can answer them. At the beginning of the
next lesson, the students will be asked these questions again, by the
instructor.
The net result will be a depth of knowledge that, I
believe, is quite often absent when using the more traditional methods.
Training Modules are £7 to hire for the duration of the course.
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of producing them (over 100 laminated pages,
many of them illustrated), we have to ask for a £25 deposit (a total of £32). The
£25 deposit is, of course, refundable as soon as the Training Modules are
returned. It is not compulsory to use the Modules; in fact the majority of driving schools
don't offer this level of support. On the other hand, I believe that the Training
Modules are not only a great help to the student's understanding of the subject,
but will also allow them to arrive at their driving test sooner.
